Although sociology has retained its deep engagement with changing forms of social reality, contemporary practices in sociology do not use a unitary set of methods. In recent years, sociological studies have charted new areas of research, making it difficult to ascertain the central issues of the discipline as a method. We aim to uncover some of the key disciplinary frames through our work in varied research settings in southern Asia.
