Activities during visit:
1. Public lecture titled “How religion came about” on the 25th of February, 2014 at 3:15 P.M. in the Lecture Theatre, Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University
2. Lecture on Department day titled “The extraordinary privilege of being an anthropologist.” on the occasion of Department Day on the 28th of February, 2014.
3. Two lectures in the Sociology of Religion - Prof. Chandan Sharma, Department of Sociology, Tejpur Central University, Assam.

Areas of Interest: Sociology of Development, Environmental Sociology, Historical Sociology, Social Movements, Identity Politics, Culture Studies, and Society and Politics of Northeast India - Prof. Sonalde Desai, Department of Sociology, University of Maryland. Coordinator Demography Program in Sociology Department. Currently: Senior Fellow, National Council of Applied Economic Research, New Delhi.
