Pattern of Questions for the M.A. Sociology Admission Test

Pattern of Admission Test for 2016-2017

The Admission Test for MA programme will be conducted by the University of Delhi at six centres all over India.

The format for this year a multiple choice paper based on a combination of general knowledge, sociological knowledge and comprehension. Familiarity with the BA sociology syllabus is desirable. Students who do not have a background in sociology, however, will also be able to attempt the exam.

Scheme of Admission test Prior to 2016:

The entrance examination for the M.A. course in Sociology was designed to elicit the candidates' general awareness and understanding of the social world. To this end the examination questions were largely qualitative and open-ended requiring candidates to use their analytical and interpretative skills to write essay type answers that are logical and coherent. The pattern of the question paper changed from year to year.
