Brief Introduction
Nupurnima Yadav MA, MPhil, Ph.D. (CSSS/JNU) is Assistant Professor in Sociology. She teaches and writes about the sociology of religion. Her current research interest focuses on marriage negotiations in Haryana: social, political, and economic transactions. Her publications include Astrology in India: A sociological inquiry published by Routledge. 2021. Sociology of India co-authored textbook published by Sage. 2021. She has other publications on the Seetala goddess: interplay of faith and fear, and creative destruction and enterprising democracy.
