Interviews for the PhD Program at the Department of Sociology will be held on the 9th and 10th of April, 2026 10 AM onwards.
All candidates should make arrangements to attend the interview in person. All Interviews will be held in the Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi (North Campus). Click here for the location.

The candidates must carry an identity card, a copy of their application form, a copy of the qualifying exam (UGC NET/JRF) Certificate showing marks and four copies of their proposal. The Form no. and name of the candidate must be mentioned in the Research Proposal. There is no need to submit the research proposal in the Department prior to the date of interview.
Candidates appearing for the interview should check their eligibility requirements as published in the 2025-26 Bulletin of Information which are as follows:
Minimum 55% in post-graduation (with appropriate relaxation for reserved
categories as per university rules). Candidates appearing for PG exams this year are not eligible to appear for interview.
Students with MA in any discipline who have qualified through the UGC
JRF/NET/PhD Examination in Sociology and secured a minimum of 50 %
marks (with appropriate relaxations)
Those who do not satisfy the above eligibility conditions have not been shortlisted for interview. Kindly do not raise queries regarding the same as this is clearly stated in the BOI.
