Interviews for the PhD Program at the Department of Sociology will be held on the 29th-30th October and 2nd of November 2026.

All candidates should make arrangements to attend the interview in person. All Interviews will be held in the Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi (North Campus). Click here for the location.
The candidates must carry an identity card, a copy of their application form, a copy of the qualifying exam (UGC NET/JRF) Certificate showing marks and four copies of their research proposal. The Form no. and name of the candidate must be mentioned in the Research Proposal. There is no need to submit the research proposal in the Department prior to the date of interview.
Students with MA in any discipline who have qualified through the UGC JRF/NET/PhD Examination in Sociology and secured a minimum of 50 % marks (with appropriate relaxations) as per University Regulations are eligible to appear for the interviews
